Harm Reduction Vending Machines
In 2023, HIPS launched 3 harm reduction vending machines as part of a pilot program funded in part by DC Health. As of June 2024, HIPS has enrolled more than 175 participants and vended over 26,000 items. Each vending machine is also co-located with an industrial sharps bin, which has kept 8,600 used syringes out of our communities.

- 1640 Marion Barry Ave (Outside of Bread for the City’s Southeast Center)
- 1201 Sycamore Dr SE (Outside of Whitman Walker’s Max Robinson Center)
